Pete Buttigieg says his family was targeted in a shocking incident involving his young children

 

BREAKING: WEAPONIZATION! A false child-abuse report against Pete Buttigieg just crossed EVERY LINE in American politics.

In one of the most disturbing acts of political cruelty imaginable, someone filed a false child-abuse allegation against Pete Buttigieg — forcing his FOUR-YEAR-OLD children to be subjected to forensic interviews in a deliberate, politically-motivated hoax, and proving that the MAGA cruelty machine has no bottom.

In a gut-wrenching Substack post, the former Transportation Secretary described the nightmare his family endured. His in-laws had to explain to his young children — kids they'd taught to never talk to strangers — that they would each have to sit alone, "for nearly an hour each, in a place they'd never been, with adults they did not know, who would ask questions we weren't allowed to know either."

For 24 agonizing hours, the family had NO idea what Buttigieg was even accused of.

"We could not understand someone abusing the system like this in order to hurt me and my family with an absurd and easily refuted allegation of a horrific crime," he wrote.

Buttigieg was careful — and gracious — to make clear the officer, the CPS professional, and the forensic interviewers were simply doing their difficult, admirable jobs protecting vulnerable children. The villain here is whoever weaponized that system as a political weapon, wasting resources meant to protect kids from real harm.

And the timing speaks volumes. "It's not lost on me that this happened soon after we shared photos of our family on social media for Father's Day," Buttigieg wrote. "Or that this occurred during a month meant to make families like ours feel welcome and safe" — a clear reference to Pride Month and the targeting of his family for being led by two dads.

His anguish as a father is impossible to read without feeling it: "They are four years old. Four. They do not know or care what a Democrat or a Republican is. They should be worrying about what kind of ice cream they're getting this afternoon."

Filing a false report like this is a CRIME, and Buttigieg vowed to pursue charges if possible — "to draw a line that I thought everyone already recognized: do not mess with someone's kids."

Whatever your politics: leave children out of it. Period.
