BREAKING: Pope Leo is REWRITING the Catholic Church’s “Just War” doctrine after JD Vance told him he’s “got to be careful” when he “opines on theology”!
Pope Leo XIV is the Vicar of Christ on Earth. J.D. Vance has been a convert to the Catholic Church for all of seven years.
Yet still he had the cheek to write recently: “If you’re going to opine on matters of theology, you’ve got to be careful, you’ve got to make sure it’s anchored in the truth.”
Now the pope, Vance’s fellow American, has had just about enough.
He just convened a secret meeting with the world’s cardinals to discuss a major overhaul of the centuries-old “just war” in the age of drones, cyber attacks, and nuclear weapons – and loudmouth whippersnappers like JD Vance.
A self-described “baby Catholic,” Vance nonetheless had the gall to lecture the Pope, who holds a PhD in Canon Law, to be careful he knows what he’s talking about and speaks the “truth.”
Of course, we don’t know how the Pontiff really feels about all this. He is presumably a man of forgiveness. But he has every right to be furious.
In any case, he’s putting his money where his mouth is, and seeking consensus with his cardinals on enshrining his 21st century sentiment that “Disciples of Christ are never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs” as official church doctrine.
If we were JD Vance, we would be a lot more respectful to Pope Leo, is the leader of the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics, of which he is but one.
