Donald Trump is desperately trying to spin his latest embarrassment as a huge success.The president claimed twice on Truth Social that a massive 45,000 people packed his Wednesday night rally on the National Mall despite video evidence of audience members leaving in droves as his brags spiced with pot shots at Joe Biden and Barack Obama droned on.
“Everybody stayed right until the end of my Speech because they loved hearing about a truly successful America,” Trump stated, prompting journalist Aaron Rupar to observe that his crowd estimate contradicted “anyone with functioning eyes.”
The fair proper was another typical Trump show. On opening day, the entire event suffered a major power outage that melted all the ice cream in the food hall.
On top of that, Trump’s beloved Ferris wheel went out of order due to generator issues and engine overheating. On top of that, one observer said the 110 foot-high ride “actually looks small compared with those at more traditional fairs.”
Organizers are now praying that one hit wonder Vanilla Ice can actually draw a crowd on Friday after multiple other performers canceled because of the event’s heavy ties to the cratering MAGA movement.
Our nation’s 250th anniversary is about all of us, and in his usual fashion, Trump had to make it all about himself, which infuriates real patriots. He can live in his private world where he imagines a cheering full house for his speech and hordes of happy revelers are having a good time on the Mall.
Though Trump refuses to open his eyes and see reality, ours are open. We see an aging narcissist whose act is dated, and for whom an ignominious end awaits after his minions are trounced in the upcoming midterms.
For real Americans, Trump can’t ruin the milestone Fourth of July. They only need to just ignore him and his clown show
